LAKE FIRE 90 PERCENT CONTAINED AT 49 SQUARE MILES

The Lake Fire that has raged in the San Bernardino Mountains since June 17 was 90 percent contained this morning, according to the U.S. Forest Service. The fire had burned 31,359 acres (about 49 square miles) near Barton Flats, destroying one home and doing an estimated $39.5 million in damage. Authorities said the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
