The Twentynine Palms High School Varsity Ladycats volleyball team traveled to Moreno Valley to take on the Vikings for the 1st round of playoffs last night (October 20).
The ‘cats started off strong and played as one for all three sets, winning 25-20, 25-21, and 25-21.
Senior Anisia Rios had strong serves and played solid defense. Senior Itzel Solorio had eight digs and one diving save to keep the cats in the rally. Junior Kyla Palpallatoc led the cats with 9 kills, 1 solo block, 1 block assist and eight digs. Senior Lexi Hanson had the assisted block with Kyla and put down two kills. Senior Gabby Wunderlee had 6 kills and eight digs. Senior Zemira Mosqueda put up four kills and had 5 ace serves. Sophomore Jenica Silvas was solid tonight with her sets. She had 16 assists, two ace serves, three kills and six digs.
The Ladycats will host Ramona Convent on Saturday, October 22nd at 6 p.m. in the Richard Casey Memorial gym. Child 5-13 and students with proper high school i.d will be $5 and general admission and students without their high school id will be $10.
