The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat volleyball teams swept the Desert Mirage High School Rams. Coach Melissa McGivern said the varsity volleyball team beat the Rams 25-12, 25-10 and 25-17.
In varsity, Gianna Bilderain served up two aces. Hailee Jenkins had two kills. Sadi Rantzow had five kills for the night. Jhordan Stanley had two kills, three assists, and two blocks. Cassandra Walti had one kill, three ace serves, six assists and one block. Mya Chacon had one ace, two kills, and seven assists. Riley King had three ace serves, five kills, two solo blocks. Alana Gutierrez played solid defense.
McGivern said, “It was a total team win. I’m proud of the way the girls stepped up and played different positions. Way to work ladies.”
The Ladycats are now 8-4 in league.
Senior night is Tuesday, October 15, against Cathedral City.
The junior varsity ’Cat volleyball team won 25-23 and 25-16.
For the junior varsity, Itzel Solorio served up an ace. N’Taiya Youso had two assists and one kill. Maniah Timu had two kills. Leah Engesser led the team with three kills. Gabby Wunderlee had two assists, two ace serves, and two kills. Zemira Mosqueda had five assists, three ace serves and two kills. Way to play as a team ladies. The junior varsity ’Cats are now 10-2.
