LADYCAT VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO COACHELLA VALLEY

In high school sports, the Twentynine Palms High School varsity Ladycat volleyball team came out strong against the Coachella Valley Arabs, winning the first two sets (25-23, 25-18) but then the team dropped the next three set (16-25, 16-25, 9-15). Coaches say the ’Cats played tough until the end. 

Coach Melissa McGivern said sophomore Mya Chacon had two kills and one ace served. Senior Jhordan Stanley had one assist, two blocks, and two kills. Sophomore Sadi Rantzow had three kills. Junior Journey Platzke had three kills and eight assists for the night. Senior Amanda Mohn was on it with one ace serve, one block assist, four kills and 10 assists. Senior Riley King had one ace serve, one solo block, and led the team in attacks with seven kills.

The junior varsity volleyball team won, 25-10 and 26-24. 

Jadyn Bauer had three assists. Maniah Timu served up an ace. Emma Barnhart defended the back court both games; Itzel Solorio and Gabby Wunderlee had one kill and one ace. Bella Salcido played strong defense and had two kills. N’Taiya Youso had one ace serve and three kills. Zemira Mosqueda served up four ace serves and had four assists. Leah Engesser had one assist, two ace serves, and was all over the net with four kills.
