In high school sports, the Twentynine Palms Lady Wildcats softball team traveled to Banning on Monday afternoon for its first game since March 2020. The team won 16-2.
Head Coach Dan Mintz was proud of the way the players in their opening league game with no pre-season games this year. Tori Emhoff pitched five innings, only giving up two hits and two runs with one walk and two strike outs. May Chacon lead the Lady Cats at the plate with three hits and three RBIs. May also scored three runs. Gianna Bilderain had two hits and three RBIs. The Lady Cats play at home Thursday, April 15 at 3:15 p.m.
