On Thursday, December 5, the Twentynine Palms High School varsity girls’ basketball team lost its semifinal game of the West Valley Tournament against D1 JW North High School, by the score of 62 to 54.

Coach Tim Stanford said, “The ladies started strong, leading at the half 31-22. North came out firing on all cylinders in the third quarter and took the lead 41 to 40 in the hotly contested game. North hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter which proved a little too much for the 5-and-2 Wildcats.”

Leading scorers on the night were Kate Bobadilla with 22 points, Mary Carbiener with 13 points, and Bre Bell with 11 points.

“These girls will be a force to be reckoned with in the Desert Valley League and division 3AA, since their only two losses have come at the hands of D1 powerhouses,” Stanford said.
