In Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer versus Indio, the varsity Trojans won 2-0.
The Lady Trojan soccer team really stepped up today. The girls displayed proper execution of the strategies they have been targeting during practice. They were quick on their feet, played smart, and had clean, crisp passes.
Freshman Kaylee Maravales led the team scoring, with the first goal in the first five minutes of the game, with an assist by Rylee Nutter.
The second goal was scored from a shot by Rylee Nutter, with an assist from Macey DeCicco.
The team’s midfield changed a lot this year; the girls are really starting to understand their positioning and are becoming synchronized, which is creating a strong center field for the team.

The junior varsity girls started off with high pressure and continued that pressure throughout the game. Though it was a 1-0 loss, the team had multiple shots on goal. The girls showed improvement on being first to the ball and great teamwork supporting each other on the field. Indio was a good match for them.
