The Yucca Valley High School junior varsity volleyball defeated the Banning Broncos in Bronco gym in two sets, 25-22 and 25-20.
The first set was a battle between the two teams, with Banning taking the lead 21-20, but the Trojans battled back to win 25-22.
The Trojans picked up their energy in the second match, and their rising energy and ace serves helped propel them into the lead. Madison Lazarovitz led the team with four aces followed by captains Amanda Cruz and Brianna Etter with three, Paige Van Hulten with two each and Briana Adams with one.
Libero Desiree Loya once again controlled the backcourt and hitters Peyton Cressy, Briana Adams, Carly Brimhall, Leilani Liechti and Loralei Hadley added key kills and digs throughout the match. Setters Etter and Van Hulten both contributed kills in additional to multiple assists.
The Trojans have improved their record to 6-3 on the season. Their next home match is this Thursday, October 3 against Indio in the Trojan gym at 3:15. They would appreciate any support.
