The Yucca Valley Lady Trojan basketball team earned their second win in as many games with a 72-29 victory over Vista Del Lago High School from Moreno Valley in a second-round game in the Riverside Poly High School Raincross Tournament Wednesday.
Coach Jess Geeson said junior Sara Mills scored a game-high 20 points to lead the team. Senior Coy Smith pumped in 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while freshman Malia Ulery added 16 points and six assists. Junior Chloe McNellie chipped in six points and five steals.
With the win, the Yucca Valley girls won their tournament pool and advance to the semifinals Thursday night when they play tournament host Riverside Poly at 730 p.m. The winner plays either Jurupa Hills or Ayala for the championship Friday night.
