The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan varsity basketball team returned to the court from winter break on Monday (January 3) night traveling to Hemet High School for a non-league game. The Lady Trojans came home with a 72-7 win over the Hemet Bulldogs improving their overall record to 10-3.
A balanced scoring night was led by sophomore Cadance Tarrant’s 17 points and junior Malia Ulery’s 16 points. Seniors Maliah Rodriguez and Heather Hiday added 14 and 12 points respectively while junior Jaylie Schreiber came off the bench pumping in 9 points. Junior Ashley Lowe finished the scoring with 4 points.
The team now prepares for an important early-season Desert Valley League contest tonight (January 5) in Trojan Gym when they play fellow undefeated league opponent Banning High School. Both teams went 4-0 in the first two weeks of league play in December. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
