LADY TROJAN BASKETBALL COMES HOME WITH WIN

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team struggled at times but was still able to come home with a 57-39 Desert Valley League victory at Coachella Valley High School Friday night.

Coach Jess Geeson said junior Sara Mills paced the team with 21 points. She was followed by freshman Malia Ulery with 10 points and sophomore Chloe McNellie with nine points. Junior Meagan Lowe netted eight points and sophomore Alanna Brady chipped in with five points.

With the victory, the girls kept their spot atop the Desert Valley League standings with a 12-0 record and improved their overall record to 22-3. The team travels to the Glendora High School Shootout today for a game against the fourth-ranked CIF Division 2A Whittier Christian High School Heralds. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
