The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan varsity basketball team traveled up the hill to take on Big Bear High School Friday evening and came home with a solid non-league win, 66-50.
Coach Jess Geeson said the Yucca Valley girls started slowly against the Bears, but picked up the pace in the second half to notch a 66-50 victory to move their overall record to 6-4 on the year.
Sophomore Sara Mills hit five three-point baskets and led the squad with 23 points. Senior Angie Reutgen scored 14 points while sophomore Loryn Brimhall and freshman Chloe McNellie each added seven points.
The girls host powerful the Cathedral City Lions tomorrow in Trojan Gym. The junior varsity game tips at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game follows at 6 p.m.
