The Twentynine Palms High School Lady Wildcat softball team traveled to Indio Tuesday night (April 5) to play the undefeated, first place Indio softball team. The game had to be decided with extra innings. Senior Hailee Jenkins hit a triple to start the 7th inning and Senior Gianna Bilderain hit a single RBI to tie the game. Unfortunately, the Indio team came up with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning for the win. The Lady Cats lost 2-3.
The Lady Cats played a great game and had high spirits throughout the entire game.
Senior Mya Chacon had a single, a walk, and scored a run.
Senior Halilee Jenkins came up with a double, a triple, an RBI, and scored a run.
Senior Gianna Bilderain had a single and an RBI.
Freshman Jenica Silvas pitched a solid 8 innings and had one single.
Freshman Jada Lampkin had one single and came up with inning-ending diving play in right field.
The play of the game came in the first inning with Indio having bases load and one out. The Lady Cats came up with an inning-ending double play.
