A La Quinta man was arrested early Friday morning in Yucca Valley, accused of burglary. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at La Casita Restaurant in Yucca Valley on Friday around 2:30 a.m. Deputies located Erik Ramirez-Ortega, 18, of La Quinta inside the business destroying items. Ramirez-Ortega reportedly resisted arrest and assaulted a deputy during the arrest. Deputies determined that Ramirez-Ortega was under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Eric Ramirez-Ortega was arrested for investigation of Burglary and Battery on a Peace Officer. He treated at Hi-Desert Medical Center, then booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
