KING OF THE HAMMERS’ “HAMMERTOWN” OPENS TOMORROW

One of the major off-road events in the country, “The King of the Hammers,” will be held in the nearby Johnson Valley off-road area. “Hammertown,” the temporary off-road village, opens 9 a.m. Friday, February 3, and closes 10 p.m. Saturday, February 11. The opening race for the 11th running of the King of the Hammers desert race and rock crawl starts February 4, and the headline race on Friday, February 10. Races are held at the Means Dry Lake in Johnson Valley. It’s not too late to register for the races if you have the right equipment and the money for entrance fees.
