The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case in which three juveniles shot at a passing pick-up truck with a BB gun, slightly injuring a child inside the vehicle. Just before 5 p.m., Sunday, a woman called deputies to report that three kids—two girls and a boy, estimated to be between the ages of 10 and young teenagers—had been hiding behind a bush on the desert side of Barron Avenue near Fortuna Avenue in Yucca Valley. When her Dodge Dakota truck drove by, she heard her truck’s window break. She then saw the kids running away toward the wash with a BB gun. The glass from the shattered rear passenger window sprayed onto her young child in the rear seat and caused some small cuts on the child’s arm. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
