JUVENILES, GAS, AND FIRE ADD UP TO DANGER IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Twentynine Palms fire fighters had to counsel some juveniles Saturday about the dangers of using gasoline on fires. According to a Sheriff’s report, some children, about 7 or 8 years old, decided to roast some marshmallows about 8 p.m. Saturday, and tried to start a fire using wood logs and gasoline in the 7200 block of Larrea Avenue. A neighbor saw the flames from over the wooden fence and when he looked over the fence, he saw one of the juveniles with a gas can, about to pour it onto the fire. He yelled at the kids to stop immediately and called the fire department. When fire fighters arrived, they educated the children on the dangers of fire and gasoline.
