A 15-year-old male juvenile from Yucca Valley was arrested last Friday (August 27), after an alleged prank call to law enforcement, also called “swatting”. Yucca Valley High School was locked down by Sheriff’s Deputies last Wednesday (August 25) for a report that a student on campus had a firearm and that they were pointing it at other students. Deputies requested a lockdown of the school for the safety of students and staff. The involved parties named in the call were contacted at the location and cooperated with deputies during the investigation. After the campus was thoroughly searched and no weapon was found, Deputies determined the report was completely false. The lockdown was lifted after about twenty minutes. The juvenile identified in the investigation of the false police report was arrested and booked for related charges at the San Bernardino Juvenile Detention Center.
