JURY DELIBERATING IN MURDER TRIAL AFTER A MARINE WAS SHOT BY ANOTHER MARINE

The jury in the murder trial of Brock Myers started their deliberations Thursday morning and will continue them today. Myers, 25, is accused of shooting and killing his roommate, 26-year-old Steven Kohus, in the head in March 2014. Both Myers and Kohus were corporals in the Marine Corps attached to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines at the Twentynine Palms Combat Center at the time of the shooting. Myers maintains that the shooting occurred while the two men, who were allegedly drunk, were horsing around at their home on Saladin Avenue in Twentynine Palms.
