JUPITER AT OPPOSITION

Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center invites stargazers to enjoy the desert night sky. A variety of telescopes will be available for guests to view the incredible cosmic sights. Here’s reporter Tanisha Cureton with the details

Jupiter is near opposition, meaning, it’s exactly on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun, causing Jupiter to be as big and bright as it will be all year. Stargazers will also find Jupiter’s four [Gael- a- lay- in] Galilean Moons and of course, prominent constellations such as, Gemini and Leo. This free event will be held Saturday, May 5th at 8:15 p.m. and will last approximately three hours. The Observatory is just outside the main entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
