Junior Team Tennis kicked off its 2013 season with four teams from the Stars Division Saturday. At Jacobs Park, Yucca Valley number 1 defeated Twentynine Palms, 29 games to 19. At Covington Park, the Morongo Valley “Smurfs” defeated Yucca Valley number 2, 30 games to 18. Next up for the Stars Division on April 6 is Yucca Valley number 2 versus Twentynine Palms at Twentynine Palms High School; Morongo Valley versus Yucca Valley number 1 at Jacobs Park. All matches start at 9 a.m.
