JTNP sees unprecedented traffic during meteor shower

Joshua Tree National Park experienced unprecedented traffic and congestion last night (August 12), owing to visitors coming out to view the Perseid Meteor Shower, which is at its peak this weekend. Roadways were congested throughout the park on both sides of traffic.

A representative from the National Park told Z1077 that all campgrounds are full and all parking lots are full.

Park staff is encouraging everyone to enjoy viewing the meteor shower from home.
