Ed Ruscha is a Los Angeles-based artist who has been associated with the pop art movement for 50 years. Alma Ruiz and Frederick Fulmer have curated a show of Ruscha’s art at the Joshua Tree Art Gallery. Friday’s opening reception is a fundraiser for the Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency program. Tickets to the special donor and collectors opening from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 11 are $35 each and are available at jthar.com. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, May 12, during the second Saturday art crawl, from 6 to 8 p.m. The show will be on display through June 3. The Joshua Tree Art Gallery is located at 61607 29 Palms Highway in downtown Joshua Tree.
