JOSHUA TREE WOMAN, OUT ON BAIL, FOUND IN A STOLEN CAR

A Joshua Tree woman was arrested Wednesday after she was found with a stolen vehicle. About 10:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, a deputy stopped a vehicle near Sage Avenue and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley. Inside the vehicle was Stephanie Johnston, 34. After an investigation, Stephanie Johnston was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, with an enhancement for committing a crime while released on bail, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $100,000. On September 6, Johnston was arrested for investigation of being an accessory to a crime for lying to deputies about the whereabouts of Leah Aeschliman, 45, who was suspected of burglary.
