A Joshua Tree woman was arrested late Wednesday night after she gave a fake name to a Sheriff’s deputy. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a 2003 Chevy near El Reposo Circle and Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday for a traffic violation. The deputy determined that the driver, Cristal Zuniga, 22, provided a false name because she didn’t want the deputy to know she was on parole. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found the passenger had paraphernalia for heroin. Cristal Zuniga was arrested for investigation of false impersonation and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $50,000.
