The Joshua Tree National Park Association reopened its Joshua Tree Visitor Center on Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree today. The visitor center, which is privately owned by the Association, will be open its regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days per week. While merchandise sales will continue, a focus of Information Specialists will be to assist potential park visitors in accessing alternative area attractions. Indoor restrooms will be available, and two portable toilets have been placed in the parking lot. The federally owned visitor centers—Oasis Visitor Center, Cottonwood Visitor Center, and Black Rock Nature Center—will remain closed until further notice.
