Joshua Tree National Park will hold its official re-opening of its Oasis Visitor Center in Twentynine Palms 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16. The festivities will include Native American bird singers and remarks by the park’s superintendent, David Smith. Light refreshments will be served. The visitor center and bookstore moved to a temporary building December 29 while the building underwent a seismic retrofit. The visitor center is located at the Oasis of Mara, at the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park on Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms. The public is invited.
