JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK SUPERINTENDANT MARK BUTLER RETIRING

After nearly 38 years of service, Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent Mark Butler announced he plans to retire March 1.

Butler has been a National Park Service employee since 1976, with many of those years at Yosemite National Park, and the last three years at Joshua Tree National Park. Butler and his wife, Cindy, plan to remain in the area following retirement.
