If you enjoy teamwork, helping others and the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park this opportunity may be for you. The Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue team has openings for new volunteer members. They provide extensive training in land searching, tracking, incident management and high-angle rope rescue techniques. No prior training or experience is required. Men and women, 18 or older, who are physically fit, are comfortable with heights, and working around injured people, are encouraged to apply. A brief informational meeting is set for Friday, February 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the park’s Black Rock Visitor Center at 9800 Black Rock Canyon in Yucca Valley.
