In June, officials at Joshua Tree National Park closed several campgrounds for the hot summer season. Now, just in time for Labor Day weekend, the park will re-open all its campgrounds, although some will require advance reservations. In anticipation of cooler weather, Joshua Tree National Park will re-open all campgrounds as of Friday, August 30. And as of Friday, Cottonwood, Indian Cove, Jumbo Rocks, Black Rock, and Black Rock equestrian campgrounds will require online reservations in advance. Reservations for campsites at these campgrounds can be made for dates between August 30 and May 26, 2020, from one day up to six months in advance, at recreation.gov. Group site reservations may be made from one day up to six months in advance and are available to reserve year-round.
