This summer, Joshua Tree National Park will sponsor a 5-week Youth Conservation Corps program for youths between the ages of 15 and 18. Selected applicants must be able to commit to the program from July 15 through August 15. Corps members will earn the California minimum wage. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with every other Friday off. The program provides youth with excellent hands-on work experience through landscaping, trail construction, and general buildings maintenance projects. Application forms are available at the Joshua Tree National Park Headquarters in Twentynine Palms and at Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms High schools, and must be submitted no later than April 19.
