Joshua Tree National Park has been voted one of the top musical attractions in the world. After four weeks of voting, readers of USA Today and 10 Best chose their top 10 favorites from a list of 20 musical attractions, and Joshua Tree National Park came in ninth place. The park has been used as a backdrop and inspiration for numerous artists such as U2, the Eagles, America, Mama Cass. Rita Coolidge, Herb Pederson, and Chris Hillman have all performed in the park. Cap Rock in Joshua Tree National Park was the site of the illegal cremation of Gram Parsons. Other locations in the top 10 list are Hansa studios in Berlin; The Experience Project Museum in Seattle; Motown Museum in Detroit; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland; and Dollywood, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Grand Ole Opry, Sun Studio, and Graceland, all in Tennessee.
