Joshua Tree National Park is hiring a number people to act as traffic control aids for the holidays. Between mid-December and early January, the traffic control aids will direct vehicle traffic and provide brief informational services to visitors. The work involves traffic and pedestrian monitoring and control in parking lots and at intersections, answering questions and providing miscellaneous services to visitors to help them experience the park in a safe manner. While workers will be based out of Twentynine Palms, they will work park-wide. The workers will serve as a front-line representative of the agency. In many instances, they may be the first and only contact the visiting public has with an NPS employee. The pay is $17.44 per hour and can be part-time or full-time.
