JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK FREE ADMISSION ON KING BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY

Joshua Tree National Park will offer free admittance on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Fees for camping, reservations, and tours will still be collected. Visitors are reminded to bring their own water as most campgrounds and picnic areas do not have water. Water is available at the visitor centers in Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and at the Black Rock, Cottonwood Springs, and Indian Cove ranger stations. Other free admittance days are the weekend of Presidents’ Day (February 14-16); National Park Week’s opening weekend (April 18-19); August 25 for the 99th birthday of the National Park Service; September 26 for National Public Lands Day; and Veteran’s Day, November 11.
