Our Joshua Tree National Park is at full capacity, and Park spokesman George Land says campgrounds are going fast. Rather than be disappointed, Park visitors are being urged to check before they make the drive……
Joshua Tree National Park is experiencing a record number of visitors. While it’s great to see people enjoying the outdoors and the beauty that the park offers, your visit requires a bit more planning in order to insure that you have a pleasurable experience.
Call before you come. First come-first served camping spots are at a premium this time of year, with most of them filling up by Friday morning. You will save yourself time and disappointment if you check on campground occupancy before you make the drive.
Back-country camping is only in “permitted” areas and must be one mile from a raod and at least 500 feet off of any trail. Campfires are strictly prohibited in the back country.
