Joshua Tree National Park Association will hold a day-long community event to thank the public for its support and assistance. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, at park headquarters in Twentynine Palms with remarks by Superintendent David Smith and refreshments. Other activities include tours of the native plant nursery, the museum archives, Oasis of Mara, and Key’s Ranch. The day ends with an open house at the Joshua Tree Visitor’s Center at 5 p.m. with more refreshments. Call 760-367-5522 to reserve your spot on the tours. Open House with Superintendent David Smith (5–6:30 p.m.) Refreshments will be served. Joshua Tree Visitor Center is located at 6554 Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree. Rangers are available to take reservations for activities 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. daily.
