JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK ASSOCIATION

Volunteers are an important part of serving the public at Joshua Tree National Park.  Ranger Pam Tripp tells about the scope of what the JTNP Association does…

Since 1962, the Joshua Tree National Park Association has been supporting preservation, scientific research and education at Joshua Tree National Park. As the park’s primary non-profit partner, they operate four Visitor Center bookstores, often the first stop for the 1.4 million visitors from around the world.  The stores offers books on the natural and cultural resources of the park, as well as t-shirts, magnets, postcards, and other items.  Visitors also receive maps and information about what to do and see in the park.   The Association raises funds for the park with public events, a membership program, and the opportunity to sign up for field classes taught by experts in natural sciences, cultural history and the arts.  The funds raised are donated in support of the needs of the parks resources and projects.  Joshua Tree National Park wishes to thank the association for supporting us and working alongside us to help visitors make the most of their experience.  For more information about the Joshua Tree National Park Association, call 760-367-5522.
