A writer and artist-in-residence will hold two writing exercises in Joshua Tree National Park that are open to the public. Sara Tourjee writes in a hybrid forms of prose and poetry; she will lead attendees through writing exercises using the park and Oasis of Mara as inspiration. The first session is at the Oasis Visitor Center Thursday, March 10, starting at 11 a.m., and again on Friday, March 11, at 8 p.m. at the Jumbo Rocks Amphitheater. Under the stars at the Jumbo Rocks amphitheater, Tourjee will read from her book, “Ghosts,” a different kind of desert ghost story. Both events are free and open to the public.
