A gala opening reception for the second Joshua Tree National Park Art Exposition will kick off the three-day event Friday, December 6. The art show features artwork inspired by or depicting the national park. Jurors selected 53 local, national, and international artists for the exposition. The winners of the judged art show will be announced during the reception at the 29 Palms Art Gallery, which is emceed by Z107.7’s Gary Daigneault. The opening reception, which includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, and music, is from 5 to 8 p.m. The festivities continue Saturday 10 to 4, and Sunday 10 to 3, with local artist booths, music, and food, on the lawn at the 29 Palms Inn. The 29 Palms Art Gallery will be open and free art classes will be offered. Events are also planned at the park’s visitor center, the 29 Palms Creative Center, and the Old Schoolhouse Museum.
