JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

It takes a lot of work to run a national park.  Ranger Pam Tripp gives a peek at the administrative services at Joshua Tree National Park…

The administrative division of Joshua Tree National Park works behind the scenes to support the essential work of personnel. They perform duties, such as managing budgets and negotiating contracts with outside vendors for the purchase of supplies and services needed for park programs, as well as paying bills and ensuring that purchases comply with regulations.  The Human Resources office of administration facilitates the hiring process, posting job announcements, evaluating applicant qualifications, and assisting with selection processes.  Other duties of administration include managing park property, handling the park’s lost and found items, and managing in-coming and out-going mail and parcel delivery. The staff assists all employees by processing payroll and helping arrange travel and training, while monitoring travel regulations. They manage park housing assignments and calculate rents. And lastly, they maintain the park’s extensive IT network of nearly 150 computers, associated servers, and related hardware throughout the park.  Joshua Tree National Park thanks the administrative staff for all they contribute in the running of this organization and park.
