JOSHUA TREE MOBILE HOME CALLED A TOTAL LOSS AFTER FIRE THURSDAY

A Joshua Tree mobile home is a total loss following a fire Thursday afternoon. County Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle said firefighters from Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms, and CalFire were called to the Joshua Estates Mobile Home Park in the 62400 block of 29 Palms Highway at 3:28 p.m. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles. The home was well involved in flames when firefighters arrived, and the fire threatened a neighboring home. Tuttle said firefighters mounted an aggressive defense to protect the nearby home, and managed to prevent it from catching fire. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the fire. The residents were not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
