JOSHUA TREE MAN WITH $425,000 IN WARRANTS ARRESTED

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Joshua Tree man wanted on $425,000 in warrants. About 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy stopped a vehicle near Park Avenue and Highway 62. Inside the vehicle was Demietreas Phillips, 35. The deputy determined that Demietreas Phillips had a $275,000 warrant for his arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, and attempted robbery, and a $150,000 warrant for robbery. Demietreas Phillips was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $425,000.
