JOSHUA TREE MAN TRIES TO HIT DEPUTY KEEPING HIM FROM WALKING INTO TRAFFIC

A Joshua Tree man who kept walking out into traffic on the highway was arrested Monday night, after he tried to slug a Sheriff’s deputy who tried to stop him. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 62 and Whitefeather Road about 10:45 p.m. for a man, later identified as Ronald Ludwig, 57, who was running in and out of traffic on the highway. When the deputy arrived, Ludwig was seen kicking the traffic signal control box. Ludwig then ran back out onto the highway; when the officer ran after him and grabbed him, Ludwig allegedly grabbed the deputy’s uniform and tried to punch him two times. The deputy used a taser to take Ludwig into custody. Ronald Ludwig was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
