A Joshua Tree man was arrested for throwing rocks at people and business windows in Yucca Valley Sunday morning. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man, later identified as Randy Anderson, 47, threw a rock at a man who was sitting in his car in the 56100 block of Highway 62 about 7:15 Sunday morning. The report states that Anderson then started swearing and yelling at the victim, then kicked the door of the parked car, smashed its window with a rock. The witness said Anderson then started walking eastbound on the highway and threw a rock through the window of a fitness facility. Witnesses also said Anderson apparently fell down and injured himself, as he was bleeding profusely from his head. The report states Anderson then walked to a restaurant in the 56200 block of 29 Palms Highway, and went inside, where customers tackled him to the ground and took away the rocks he was still holding, until deputies arrived on scene. Deputies determined that windows to multiple businesses were broken. Randy Anderson was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
