A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threatened to kill two people who were taking photos. The victims told deputies they were taking photos of trees near the 60000 block of Onaga Trail in Joshua Tree about 6 p.m. when David Berumen, 32, returned home. They said Berumen went to his home and came back on foot with a pick ax which he swung at the victims, while telling them he was going to kill them. Deputies served a search warrant on Berumen’s home and found the pick ax. David Berumen was arrested on suspicion of assault and making criminal threats, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
