A Joshua Tree man was seriously injured Friday night when he was hit by a pick-up truck on the highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Dylan Davis, 26, who was intoxicated and wearing all dark clothing, was on the south shoulder of Highway 62 east of Bonair Road and attempted to cross the highway northbound about 10:50 p.m. He walked directly into the path of a Ford F-150 pick-up truck driven eastbound on the highway in the slow lane by Lance Corporal Mason Turner, 20, a machine gunner with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment at the Twentynine Palms Combat Center. Turner was unable to avoid hitting Davis, who was thrown into the air, landing at the entrance to Joshua Tree Mobile Estates. Turner immediately pulled over and waited for emergency personnel. Dylan Davis was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with major injuries.
