JOSHUA TREE MAN KILLED MONDAY WHEN CAR FALLS ON HIM

A Joshua Tree man was killed Monday afternoon after his car fell on him. According to a Sheriff’s report, Jeremy Porter was working on his car in the 6200 block of Verbena Road when his car fell off the jack and pinned him underneath it. A maintenance worker for the apartment complex found Porter about 4:10, and after checking for a pulse, called 911, and then the apartment manager. The apartment manager brought his own jack to lift up the car, and they pulled Porter out from under the car. Joshua Tree rescue personnel transported Jeremy Porter to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
