JOSHUA TREE MAN HOSPITALIZED IN SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER BEING ATTACKED BY A PACK OF FERAL DOGS

A Joshua Tree man was hospitalized with significant injuries Monday (September 20) after being attacked by a pack of feral dogs. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded to the 1900 block of Winfield Road in Joshua Tree around 8 p.m. for a report of a dog attack. Arriving deputies determined a 59-year-old male resident of Joshua Tree had received significant injuries to his lower extremities from being attacked by “several feral, vicious dogs” near his residence. The victim was transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to High Desert Medical Center. Due to the extent of his injuries, the victim was then flown by Mercy Air to Desert Regional Medical Center where he was reported to be in serious condition. Morongo Basin Animal Control has joined the Sheriff’s department to conduct the investigation, which is ongoing.
