A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday, accused of attacking another man with a machete. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Yost, three men lived in separate residences on the same property in the 66500 block of Daisy Lane in Joshua Tree and were arguing. About 3 a.m., Matthew Snedeker, 46, took one man’s keys and went to his home. The victim followed Snedeker and demanded his keys back, and when he reached his arm through an open window, Snedeker allegedly struck the man’s hand with a machete, cutting open the entire length of his little finger. After an investigation, Matthew Snedeker was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, and on three warrants, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his total bail set at $65,000. The victim was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs for treatment.
