JOSHUA TREE MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN ATV

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Saturday, accused of being in possession of a stolen off-road vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy made a traffic stop about 9 p.m. Saturday on a red Ford pick-up truck for having an expired registration. The deputy determined the driver of the truck, William Freier, 39, was on felony probation. In the back of the truck was an all-terrain vehicle. Freier allegedly told the deputy he had purchased the ATV in June for $100. A records check determined the ATV had been reported stolen out of Joshua Tree in June and was valued at $1000. William Freier was arrested for investigation of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
